PROVEN RESULTS
The following is a brief story of a former student of MBM who expanded his limits as an entrepreneur and led his company to go public on Nasdaq. The couple Atílio and Sandi, former students of the MBM program, of Class 41 in São Paulo, in a few years followed the path of going public on the New York Stock Exchange.

From the MBM classroom to the Nasdaq IPO
Medcel’s history began in 2005, as an educational institution specialized in the medical field. In 2016 new partners joined the company and a process of joining with other medical schools began, which culminated in 2019, with the formation of the largest medical education group in Brazil in the number of Medicine vacancies authorized by MEC. Thus Afya Educacional was born.
Afya Educacional’s journey continued until the IPO in New York in July 2019. In addition to being a successful IPO, this achievement also reached historic milestones:
- It was the fifth Brazilian company to go public on the American stock exchange Nasdaq;
- It was the first IPO in the world for a medical education company;
- Achieved Valuation of 8 Billion Reais in NY;
